Fall is a magical time in San Diego. The winds of change blow through the air, and the always lively city truly comes out to celebrate. At Mattress World and Al Davis Furniture, we are proud to call America’s Finest City home, and we want you to commemorate our town like we do. Check out this list of autumn San Diego events.
The San Diego Italian Film Festival
Maybe we should call this one a festivale, but either way it is going to be interesting. Comedies, documentaries, and dramas will all take center stage during this festival. The Museum of Photographic Arts will be the main theater for these films, and other theaters will be showcasing the finest in Italian cinema from October 4th through October 15th. Tickets start at $8.
The Fallback Festival
With this festival, you are falling way back, to the old days of the West, when people went to go pan for gold on horseback. The Gaslamp Foundation is putting this event on in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, and the festival is free, although some activities have a small fee. Take a step back in time and enjoy live entertainment. This is a very family friendly event. This will take place on Sunday, November 5th, from 11 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
The 22nd Annual Día De Los Muertos Festival
This is one of the most authentic, traditional events you will ever attend in America. The artist Eloy Tarcisio created a special area to remember lost loved ones. You can celebrate with music, art, and ballet folklórico. The event starts on November 1st, at 6:00 PM, and it is wise to get there early. There will be arts and crafts, face painting, and other activities for children. Entry is free.
The Carlsbad Village Faire
More than 100,000 people are expected to visit this one-day event. This is the largest street fair in the country, and it is going to take place between 8 AM and 4PM on November 5th. Over 900 vendors will sell everything under the sun, from art to clothes to accessories. There will be a children’s area to entertain the young ones with games, a bounce house, and arts and crafts. A variety of food options will be available.
The San Diego Veterans’ Day Parade
San Diego is proud of its contribution to the Armed Forces of the United States. Many airmen, sailors, soldiers, and marines live in our fair city, and we could not be more honored to have them here. On November 11th, it will be our turn to appreciate them. The one-mile route is going through the heart of downtown San Diego, and starts at 11 in the morning.
